Experience
Don’t let the short distance fool you—this is a steep and challenging hike best suited for experienced hikers and older children. The trail begins with a creek crossing, which can be difficult depending on water levels, followed by a steep, rocky climb that becomes more treacherous near the top. Much of the route consists of loose gravel and rock, requiring careful footing on both the ascent and descent.
While the caves at the top are a fun and unique feature, the exposed terrain and steep slopes make this hike not recommended for young children. This trail is a great option for adventurous hikers looking for a short but strenuous hike, but proper footwear and caution are strongly advised.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
