The Sturgis Trail System is a newer multi-trail network located south and southeast of Sturgis, offering a stacked loop design with approximately 15 interconnected trails. This thoughtfully built system allows hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers to mix and match routes to create loops of varying lengths and difficulty levels. Whether you’re looking for a short outing or a longer endurance ride, the flexibility of the Sturgis Trail System provides options for all ability levels.
Access points include a trailhead across from Flex Fitness in Sturgis, another along Vanocker Canyon Road a few miles outside of town, and connections via the Centennial Trail from the Alkali Creek Trailhead. With diverse terrain, multiple entry points, and scalable route combinations, the Sturgis Trail System offers something for everyone seeking outdoor adventure in the northern Black Hills.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
