Experience

Elk Mountain Nature Trail is an easy, family-friendly nature trail located in Wind Cave National Park near Hot Springs, SD. This short loop trail winds through rolling prairie hills and a ponderosa pine forest. It starts in the Elk Mountain Campground with parking near the ampitheater. This trail is the only dog-friendly trail in the park. The hike takes about 15 minutes and ends at the Elk Mountain Amphitheater directly across the parking lot from where it starts.
