Experience
Lookout Point is a scenic out-and-back trail that can be easily combined with a portion of the Centennial Trail to create a loop of approximately five miles. The route begins and ends in rolling prairie hills dotted with ponderosa pines, offering wide-open views and a peaceful hiking experience. Throughout the hike, the landscape blends grassland and forest, creating excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing.
Hikers may encounter animals such as elk or buffalo along the trail, making awareness and caution essential. Visitors should always observe wildlife from a safe distance and never approach buffalo, as they are unpredictable and dangerous. Lookout Point is an excellent option for hikers seeking a moderately long trail with expansive scenery, quiet terrain, and the flexibility to create a looped route.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
