Dugout Gulch

Experience

Dugout Gulch is a well-marked botanical trail near Beulah, Wyoming, and a must-visit hike for wildflower viewing in the spring and summer. The first two miles follow a peaceful creek through dense forest, creating a lush, rainforest-like feel. As the trail transitions into a loop, it opens into classic Black Hills pine forest with gently rolling single-track terrain. Popular with both hikers and mountain bikers, Dugout Gulch offers scenic variety without steep climbs. Cell service is limited along most of the trail, so plan accordingly. For a detailed trail guide, read our full blog on Dugout Gulch.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
