The Wind Cave Canyon Trail is an easy, scenic hike in Wind Cave National Park that follows an old road along the canyon to the park boundary fence. This mostly gentle trail offers a pleasant mix of sun and shade and is considered one of the best bird-watching spots in the park. Hikers may spot cliff swallows, great horned owls, woodpeckers, and other native birds along the route. Be aware that poison ivy and rattlesnakes have been reported in the area, so stay alert and watch where you step.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
