Dugout Gulch is a well-marked botanical trail near Beulah, Wyoming, and a must-visit hike for wildflower viewing in the spring and summer. The first two miles follow a peaceful creek through dense forest, creating a lush, rainforest-like feel. As the trail transitions into a loop, it opens into classic Black Hills pine forest with gently rolling single-track terrain. Popular with both hikers and mountain bikers, Dugout Gulch offers scenic variety without steep climbs. Cell service is limited along most of the trail, so plan accordingly. Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
