The Deerfield Lake Loop is a lightly trafficked hiking trail that circles scenic Deerfield Lake in the Black Hills. This mostly single-track trail winds through fragrant ponderosa pine forest with frequent lake views, then transitions into open prairie and peaceful creekside sections. With varied terrain and beautiful scenery, the Deerfield Lake Loop is an excellent choice for a longer, rewarding hike.

Lovely shade, easy creek access for the kids. Parking fills fast by 10am.

Rock in sections; bring poles. Worth it for the canyon views.
