SUMMARY:Buffalo 50 Mountain Bike Race
DESCRIPTION:50-mile solo or relay mountain bike races in Hill City\, SD along Trail 40 and Mickelson Trail. \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS:\nFriday Night Party \nPacket Pick-Up Packet pick-up will be open from 5:00-7:00 pm at Dairy Twist just outside of Hill City. (12647 US-16\, Hill City\, SD 57745) Enjoy some tasty food at Dairy Twist which offers a full menu\, and of course\, delicious desserts. (Food and drinks are not included with your entry fee) \nSaturday Morning Packet pick-up will continue in the morning at Granite Sports from 7:00 -8:00 am. Riders can pick up packets for other riders. However\, each rider must be fully registered and have their waivers signed. Same-day registration is not an option at this time\, so please plan ahead! \nSaturday Race Information \nRace start will be at Granite Sports\, on Main Street in Hill City. Race start at 8:30am. Start times may be staggered. Second lap must be starting their second lap around 1:30. Race will begin with a crack of a whip! Yee-haw. \nSaturday Race After-Party \nThe race after-party and awards will be at Lost Cabin Brewery in downtown Hill City from 12:00 – 8:00pm. Enjoy some local food and drinks\, as you relax after a hard ride. Award Ceremony will be at Lost Cabin TBD.

DESCRIPTION:Homestake Trail Volksmarch \nCelebrate 150 years of history\, community\, and connection at the Homestake Trail Volksmarch\, a special event commemorating the 150th anniversaries of Lead and Deadwood. This collaborative celebration honors the shared heritage and enduring partnership between our neighboring communities while showcasing the natural beauty that connects them. \nThe Volksmarch features a scenic 3.5-mile hike along the Homestake Trail\, a favorite route among local residents. Participants will begin at the Lead Dog Park/Homestake Trailhead in Lead and finish at the Mickelson Trailhead in Deadwood. \nConvenient parking will be available at the Sherman Street Parking Lot in Deadwood and at Gold Run Park and Manuel Brothers Park in Lead. Complimentary trolley service will run continuously between Lead and Deadwood parking locations from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.\, making transportation easy for all participants. A designated drop-off and pick-up area will also be available near the trailhead. \nChuckwagon Gathering \nAfter completing the hike\, participants are invited to continue the celebration at Deadwood’s Chuckwagon Gathering beginning at high noon in Deadwood City Park.
