DESCRIPTION:The Big Hill Trail Run is an annual event held at the Big Hill Trailhead near Spearfish\, South Dakota. The 2026 race is scheduled for Sunday\, May 17\, with both 5K and 8-mile courses starting at 9:00 a.m. \nLocation and Directions: \nThe trailhead is located south of Spearfish. To reach it: \n\nTake Exit 12 off Interstate 90 and proceed south on Jackson Street for approximately 1.5 miles through Spearfish.\nTurn left onto Harvard Street and drive about 0.25 miles.\nTurn right onto Hill Street\, which becomes Tinton Road (Forest Service Road 134).\nContinue for 8 miles; the trailhead will be on your right.\n\nRegistration Fees: \n\n5K – $25 (BHRC Members: Use your ID for a discount)\n5K – Under 16 – Free entry (no event swag included)\n8Miler – $25 (BHRC Members: Use your ID for a discount)\n8 Miler – 16 and Under – Free entry (no event swag included)\nRegistration closes at 4 p.m. on May 16\, 2026\n\nPlease note that parking is limited at the trailhead; carpooling is encouraged. \nFor more information and to register\, visit the official registration page.
